Covid 19 Precautions

Bodyworks Osteopathy of York continues to follow government guidelines and, on their advice, together with the General Osteopathic Council and Institute of Osteopathy, Osteopathic clinics can open their doors again and offer face to face consultations as and when deemed appropriate.  Telephone and/or video consultations are always available and during lockdown, have proven to be very successful so please do book a virtual consultation if you are in need. A physical visit to the clinic will look and feel different to how things normally are. All of the following policies and procedures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the Osteopath and you, the patient.

• Each patient will be called 24 hours before their appointment and taken through a Covid-19 screening questionnaire. 
  
  
• Risk assessment for infection control of the Pilates matwork area and clinic room has been carried out and written up. A hard copy is available to view on request.
  
  
• You will be asked to wear a type IIR mask or equivalent standard during the consultation. If you don't own one, a mask will be provided.
  
  
• On arrival, please walk straight in to the studio, use the hand sanitiser and take a seat on the window seat. Your Osteopath will collect you at your appointment time.
  
  
• Please come to your appointment on your own to minimise the number of people in the clinic. Only bring essential belongings such as one handbag/rucksack.
  
  
• Your Osteopath will be wearing a type IIR mask.

• In order to ensure hygiene and to lower the risk of transmission, there are no fabric covers for the treatment table and pillows. The table and waterproof pillows will be wiped down with disinfectant after each patient, as will all hard surfaces in the treatment room.

• Payment can be made directly by online banking however if you prefer to pay by card, the machine will be wiped down after use. Discounts are available on request. Bodyworks Osteopathy of York recognises that people may be finding this time financially difficult. Please feel free to discuss your needs with your Osteopath.

• Please note as the UK continues to deal with the pandemic, guidelines, advice and protocols may change. Bodyworks Osteopathy of York will keep up to date on all current Government and professional bodies announcements and act accordingly. With this in mind, the above procedures may change over time so please do visit this section to keep up to date.
